Moonlight Stage Productions and the Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista, California, are true culture treasures. A cultural arts program of the City of Vista, Moonlight Stage Productions brings Broadway musicals and live music to the beautiful Moonlight Amphitheatre each year for Southern California locals to enjoy. And this year, Frontwave Credit Union is proud to be a sponsor of The Moonlight’s long-delayed 40th anniversary season!

Like so many things that were put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Moonlight’s 2020 summer season was halted due to the prolonged discontinuation of live entertainment in Southern California. The 2021 summer season, which opens on June 16, 2021, will be a homecoming for The Moonlight’s audiences and for those who make the onstage magic happen.

Four Broadway musicals are planned, starting with the calypso flavored “Once On This Island,” a musical retelling of “The Little Mermaid,” which runs June 16 – July 3. From July 21 – August 7, The Moonlight will revive the Disney classic musical “Beauty and the Beast,” followed by the poignant and provocative “A Chorus Line” from August 18 – September 4. Last but not least, closing the season is the San Diego regional premiere production of “On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan” from September 15 – October 2.

This 40th anniversary season is a true celebration of The Moonlight’s rich history. What began in 1981 as a bare concrete stage in an underdeveloped city park has grown into a 2,000 person Amphitheatre complete with a state-of-the-art stage house with full complement of lighting and sound, and a 30-person orchestra pit. The Moonlight’s award-winning productions are critically acclaimed, and hailed as being as close as you’ll get to Broadway-quality without having to travel to New York.
