This year, we proudly recognize the ongoing efforts of credit unions to build a better future for over 393 million members in 118 countries worldwide.

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that offer an alternative to traditional for-profit banks. With a member-centric focus, they prioritize the financial health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. Across the globe, more than 87,000 credit unions are working tirelessly to provide accessible and affordable financial services, helping to drive positive economic and social change.

Despite the progress made, there are still 1.4 billion people globally who remain unbanked, lacking access to essential financial services. Credit unions are perfectly positioned to reach these underserved populations, bridging the gap and offering financial solutions that foster inclusion, security, and opportunity.
