Frontwave Press Release

Oceanside, CA — Frontwave Credit Union is proud to announce that our very own Director, Colonel Gerald Polyascko (Ret.), has been named one of just three inductees into the prestigious 2025 Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Hall of Honor.

Only three people are selected each year for the Defense Credit Union Council’s (DCUC) prestigious Hall of Honor. This year, we’re proud to share that one of them is our very own Director, Colonel Gerald Polyascko (Ret.).

Since joining the Frontwave Board of Directors in 2010, Director Polyascko has been a driving force in our growth and evolution. He has helped modernize our Board governance, championed analytics-based decision making, and worked to diversify our leadership, ensuring it better reflects the Members we serve.

A retired U.S. Marine Corps Colonel, Gerald brought his 33 years of military service and leadership to his role at Frontwave, including experience as a commander, educator, and mentor. His impact extends beyond our walls. He currently serves as vice president of the Camp Pendleton Historical Society, where he leads initiatives that honor our military heritage and educate future generations.

During his tenure, Frontwave's asset size has more than doubled, growing from $652.8 million to over $1.4 billion. He has played a key role in several of our most significant milestones, including the construction of our headquarters, the renaming and rebranding of the credit union to Frontwave, the launch of the Frontwave Foundation, and the implementation of major technology upgrades that improved how we serve our Members every day. His longtime support and advocacy for DCUC have helped keep our Credit Union connected to the broader defense credit union movement.

Director Polyascko will become the fifth person from Frontwave Credit Union inducted into the DCUC Hall of Honor. Previous Frontwave honorees include:

  • Lou DeCarlo (2004)
  • Dave Davis (2014)
  • George Hoagland (2021)
  • Richard Rothwell (2022)

Also joining this year’s Hall of Honor class are Raymond White Jr., board chairman at FreeStar Financial Credit Union, and Gerald Brown, director emeritus at Andrews Federal Credit Union, both recognized for their longstanding service and dedication to military Members and families.

We’re beyond proud of Director Polyascko for this well-deserved recognition.

Congratulations, Gerald, and thank you for your continued service to Frontwave and the Members who count on us!
